Duplicate Serial Number 07804497
100th known pair
Today's confirmed pair marks the 100th known pair in a list of known pairs I have maintained since Project 2013B started. These included the 12 pairs that were either from the defunct Zegers-Winograd Project as well as pairs randomly found up for auction. This is the 88th Pair discovered by Project 2013B overall.

Too many pairs??
Some might feel too many pairs are being discovered, but as far as I know there are less than 25 pairs that have gone to auction. The valid serial number range for this production error means that in theory there are 6,650,000 pairs but keep in mind that the lifespan of a dollar bill ranges from only 22 months to 6 years depending on who you believe. Once a bill gets worn out enough (or damaged), it is pulled from circulation and destroyed. So every day, there are less and less 2013 B star notes out there. What remains of those bills is circulating with 14.3 BILLION one dollar bills, so they are not exactly easy to find (and pretty much impossible to pair up without a site like Project 2013B). Recently a fairly low graded pair (both bills graded as a 25) sold for $3,550 so it is still rare. A grade of 70 would be a banknote in perfect condition, but there have not been a single matched pair discovered yet where BOTH notes were graded above 40.
Missing In Action
What used to be a monthly "All Points Bulletin" post is now at the bottom of every blog post from this point forward. If you see your serial number, or Owner ID, in the following table, then you need to contact Project 2013B because you are part-owner of a matched pair!
Cash or this?
