PROJECT 2013B has it's 16th confirmed match of 2024! There are now 114 confirmed matching pairs over the history of this project, the project that preceded it, and matched pairs spotted at auctions. 

Project 2013B started with a list of 10,072 banknotes, and now has over 47,386 unique banknotes registered it its database, and 9024 members.

I have been searching through $500 to $1000 of $1 notes for about 18 months.  ********, MT is not a very large City so I have had to open up "small savings accounts" in several different banks.  Otherwise, several of them wouldn't allow me to purchase and then return that volume of  $ notes.  All together I've found about 60 of the notes.

The 'Washington DC' printed 2013B star note was registered 2023.12.30 by member OXzF who is 87 years old.
Photos of the bills from both parties officially confirmed a match today.

April drought is over

Although several matching pairs were detected this month, it took till today to finally get one confirmed via photo-proof. 

This pair marks the 100th confirmed pair by Project 2013B.  Although 100 sounds like a lot, only about 1/3rd have gone to auction. Series 2013 bills of all types are well past the expected lifetime that a dollar bill spends in circulation. Once damaged, or simply worn out, banks will forward them to a Federal Reserve bank where they are shredded and replaced.  As time goes on, these notes should become harder and harder to find as I have hear annecdotally from a few people I know that quite literally search thousands of dollar bills each week looking for these particular star notes (as well as notes with printing errors, fancy serial numbers, etc).
