Rare Fort Worth and DC Star Note Pair Offered Ungraded for the First Time

This newly confirmed 2013B star note pair—featuring duplicate serial number B06933382★ from both Fort Worth and Washington, D.C.—is the first ungraded set ever offered by the Project 2013B Marketplace.

This matched pair, first confirmed by Project 2013B on April 25th of this year, features one note printed at the Fort Worth facility—discovered in Cincinnati, Ohio by a collector who sourced all his Series 2013 star notes through local bank strap searches—and a second note from the Washington, D.C. print run, located in Virginia. Their convergence represents yet another rare instance of duplicate serial numbers from two distinct BEP facilities.

Now offered through the Project 2013B Marketplace, this is the first ungraded matched pair to be made available—a departure from past offerings, which were exclusively certified by major grading services such as PCGS. Collectors have the unique opportunity to submit the notes to their preferred grading company and assign a custom pedigree, such as “From the Johnson Collection,” (assuming your last name is Johnson) allowing for personalized provenance. While most auction houses require graded notes to ensure authenticity and establish value, this pair offers buyers a chance to shape its future presentation—whether kept raw or professionally encapsulated.
