Limited Offerings Due to Redbubble Account Suspension

Unfortunately, my Redbubble account has been unfairly suspended without a clear explanation. As a result, the number of designs available here will be limited until further notice.

For those using print-on-demand services or selling on platforms like eBay and Etsy, be aware that your account can be terminated without warning. This is especially true for Redbubble, which has demonstrated inconsistent and opaque enforcement policies.

I had been a Redbubble seller for over ten years, uploading more than 1,400 designs. While submitting a St. Patrick’s Day design featuring a witty saying and a custom logo, I received a message stating that the design was under review. This is not uncommon, as Redbubble sometimes flags designs for potential copyright, adult content, or other concerns. However, when I attempted to log back in later, I found that my account no longer existed.

Shortly after, I received a generic suspension notice addressed to my last name in lowercase letters. The email provided no specific reason for the suspension, only listing three vague possibilities. I reached out for clarification, requesting an exact explanation for the decision. The response was an automated message directing me to an appeal form. I submitted an appeal, only to receive another form letter just two hours later—outside of standard business hours—upholding the suspension without further details. Despite following up again, I have yet to receive any response.

Redbubble’s enforcement practices are inconsistent at best. Searching their marketplace reveals numerous blatant copyright violations, yet these listings often remain active for extended periods. As an experiment, I reported a store that exclusively sold unauthorized reproductions of well-known logos, including Coca-Cola’s. Despite submitting multiple reports, the store remained active for a full year before finally being taken down—seemingly only after the rights holder intervened.

As a creator, I regularly monitored Redbubble for stolen versions of my work. On multiple occasions, I discovered my designs copied exactly—without modifications—by other sellers. While reported listings were typically removed within a few days, Redbubble often allowed the offending seller’s store to remain active, even after repeated violations. In one case, a single seller had stolen ten of my designs, accounting for half of their store’s listings. Though Redbubble removed the infringing content, the seller was allowed to continue operating.

These experiences highlight the risks of relying on Redbubble and similar platforms. Their policies are applied inconsistently, and sellers can face sudden, unexplained account termination while copyright violations persist unchecked. I encourage fellow creators to consider these factors carefully when choosing where to sell their work.
